Location and maps
Near me asks for your permission. Your location is used in your browser to sort places and center the map. We do not receive your coordinates. Analytics records whether the request succeeded or failed, without the location.
The full map loads tiles from OpenFreeMap. Tile requests reveal your IP address and the map area you are viewing to that provider. Centering the map near you can therefore reveal your approximate area.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and measure page performance. It uses no cookies and does not collect personal data or log URL query strings. See Cloudflare’s explanation.
We use Google Analytics to understand visits and actions such as opening the map, following venue links, searching and sharing. It uses cookies. Search counts include the number of results and query length, never the words you type. We record the ID of an opened map place, but not your coordinates, email address or other URL query parameters. Google signals and advertising personalization are disabled.
To opt out of Google Analytics here, enable Global Privacy Control in a browser that supports it, then reload the page. We honor that signal by not loading Google Analytics. You can also use Google’s opt-out browser add-on in a supported browser. Cloudflare’s cookieless counts continue.
We do not use the Meta Pixel.
Other services
Fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address with those requests. Links to venues, ticket sellers, directions and other sites take you to services with their own privacy policies.
